Youth Recreational Program (U13-U19)

Welcome to our Recreational Soccer Program, where we strive to create an engaging and dynamic learning environment for families. Our focus is on skill development and fostering a genuine passion for the beautiful game. We've designed a game-based curriculum to enhance learning experiences, encouraging players to embrace mistakes, express creativity, and develop into confident and brave athletes.

Player development is the heart of our program, guided by our 4 Pillars of Coaching:

  1. Players Experience FUN: We want you to enjoy the game while also building a strong work ethic.
  2. Players Connect through Positive Team Spirit: We focus on building camaraderie and teamwork through shared experiences.
  3. Players demonstrate growth with Positive Coaching: We support personal and skill development through positive reinforcement.
  4. Player commitment increases when Learning and Improving is frequent: We aim to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and dedication to the sport.

U17 BOYS (2009-2010)

League Participation:

  • U15 to U19 Age Groups:
    • Depending on numbers, age groups may combine to stay and compete in a local Sherwood Park League.
    • If a Sherwood Park League is not a viable option, teams may need to play in the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) Championship at a higher cost.
      • Any increase in league fees will be communicated to the affected teams by Phoenix FC staff.
      • Competing in the EMSA Championship would mean playing in different locations in the Edmonton area. A schedule would be released by EMSA that Phoenix FC will distribute to affected teams.

Coaching:

  • Parents play a big role in our program, taking on the role of Head Coach & Assistant Coach in this program.
  • Head Coaches will receive a $100.00 rebate for their child’s fee should they volunteer to coach their child’s team.
  • Sessions will be provided each week.

Equipment and Fees:

  • Your registration covers a team kit (jerseys, shorts, socks), training costs, field rental, team equipment, coach rebate, ASA membership, and insurance.

(Optional) Additional Club Wear:

Schedule and Changes:

  • Cancellations may occur due to bad weather or facility availability due to closures outside of Phoenix FC control.
  • We will try to reschedule when we can on the same days as much as possible, but it's not always guaranteed
